Minister Tsvetanov will participate in the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Luxemburg

The European Commission will present the first six-month report on the functioning of the Schengen area for the period November 2011 – April 2012 during the meeting

On 7 June 2012 Minister Tsvetanov will participate in the last JHA Council during the Danish Presidency of the EU. The Ministers of the Interior will continue the political debate on the governance of the Schengen area. The European Commission will present the first six-month report on the functioning of the Schengen area for the period November 2011 – April 2012. Within the meeting there will be a discussion on the implementation of the solidarity measures regarding Member States facing a strong migratory pressure and especially Greece. The Ministers of the Interior will deliberate the actual state of play in the development of the Common European Asylum System as well as the implementation of the EU Anti-terrorist Strategy. The Council will discuss and adopt Conclusions on global alliance against the sexual abuse of children in internet, aimed to unify the efforts of EU and USA in the cybercrime, as well as Conclusions on the effective use of the Europol Information System in combating the cross-border crime.
