Border police exercised counteracting illegal immigration with air, naval and land forces
The exercise is part of a joint project with the German Federal Police
The exercise is part of the project “Capacity building of GDBP to carry out air surveillance of the external borders in co-operation with EU member-states experienced in this field”. It is carried out jointly with the German Federal Police. Its aim is to apply practically the methodology of using helicopters in the police surveillance of the border. The methodology has been prepared by Bulgarian border police and their colleagues from the German Federal Police. The exercise is carried out within the responsibility zones of Elhovo and Bourgas Regional Border Police Directorates. Various situations are planned to check the possibilities for responding, the decision taking processes, the management of teams from the air and the necessary coordination with the actions of the land patrols. The exercise will finish on 8 June.
