Border police officers at BCCP Malko Tarnovo detained a Serbian national wanted for robbery with a stolen BMW
He arrived at BCCP Malko Tarnovo ready to leave the country in a BMW with Swiss registration number. His companions were two Serbian nationals – the driver and a woman aged 28. The car was diverted to the second line for inspection, because the border police had information that it might be an object of theft. With the assistance of an Austrian police officer employed in Frontex Agency, the expert inquiry established beyond doubt tampering with the VIN of the car. The border police officers found out that the driver was wanted according to data in the Schengen Information System. The Serbian nationals and the car were detained for 24 hours at Malko Tarnovo Border Police Administration. The reason for the search was established with the co-operation of SIRENE Bureau, i.e. robbery in Vienna. The person has a European arrest warrant. The work on the case is in progress.
