The main focus of the talks between Rob Wainwright and Minister Tsvetanov was directed to the investigation of the terrorist attack at the "Sarafovo" airport. The Director of the European Agency congratulated Minister Tsvetanov for the professional work: "I am delighted that Europol is closely connected with the investigation. It is yet another example of the successful cooperation with the Bulgarian services”, he underlined. Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov also stressed the high level of interaction between the Ministry of Interior and Europol. He expressed his sincere gratitude for the assistance and professionalism on behalf of Europol in the investigation of the bombing of the "Sarafovo" airport.
During the meeting, it became clear that today Europol was given all information collected so far throughout the investigation.
The names of the two suspects involved in the bombing whose identity was found, are already included in the Europol’s database. The objective is to determine whether they have resided in any other EU country and at the same time - whether the relevant agencies have any or complete information on those persons.
Director Wainwright and Minister Tsvetanov expressed readiness experts from Europol to participate in the investigation team and respectively - officials of the Bulgarian authorities to be involved in the work of the European Agency. During the coming days, it is expected our experts to leave to The Hague.
